Hey guys welcome back to my channel Um this is one video you don't want to Miss if you want to make some delicious Food the reason being I promised this Recipe Weeks ago um so sorry for the delay but I have finally got the recipe for Chaat Masala for you so it is a spice blend in Indian spice blend Sorry about that noise that's my washing Machine has just finished its circle Cycle so it's letting me know Right so this is my book charging Chutney which you must know by now that It's all about Indian Street food and at The end of the book actually which I Haven't done in every good book I've Shared some spice blends And one of them is Jack Masala there is Also Masala and I will over time share it I Think summer Masala I've already shared It's on the channel anyways it's a quick Mix of spices Um and if you have been following my Recipes then you know that I like to use Chaat Masala even in sometimes in Curries in it could be sandwiches it Could be soups anything depending on What obviously I can't put it in Absolutely everything Don't go crazy Um right let's get uh making this and Don't forget to subscribe hit the Bell
Button And you'll be pleased to know that I'm Not only going to share the recipe of Chaat Masala which is the key recipe of This video I'm also going to use it to Make my lunch for today which is one of The meals that we make so often because My kids request it all the time for the Lunchboxes it's so good and it's really Healthy and ready in minutes so Yeah I'm going to share a delicious Pepper chickpea rice With chocolate masala Nice hot pan going to add just dry Roasting a couple of spices so two Tablespoons of cumin powder This is just going to be nice and Earthiness to the Masala and a tablespoon of fennel season Our fennel is going to add that aniseed Freshness to it now just dry roast this For a couple of minutes Without losing half of it obviously You'll be able to see slight change in Color and also smell it so you can see That you can see the smoke coming and I Can smell it Um obviously you can't but you can Really smell the fennel and cumin so What I'm gonna do is you really don't Want to burn this So this goes you can make it in a spice Blender I'm just going to use a pestle And water because
I don't mind a little bit of bite in the Spice So there it is and that goes In There [Music] It smells so good Oh I love fennel and I love cumin I love All spices extremely honestly That is looking pretty good now I'm Going to add the rest of the spices Um quarter teaspoon of Hing or Asafoetida this is the only spice In here that you can skip all the rest Of the spices are quite important but if You don't have Hing or can't find Hing That is something you can skip Um one of the key spices in here is the Black salt Which actually will give you that Um Kind of [Music] Um Fresh Sharpness and also got a Sour note to it which is So lovely With the saltiness of course because It's the salt quarter teaspoon of black Pepper Ground black pepper and quarter teaspoon Of ground ginger It's the most important
Spice in the Chaat Masala is amchur so I've got two good Heap tablespoons of Amjuring there which is dried mango Powder and now I'm gonna give it a quick Mix Now this sort of quantity would easily Last me A month And I'm just going to transfer it to a Clean Dry jar So here it is Delicious My mouth is watering just smelling that Because it's really kind of a magical Spice mix I have to say Um Like I said don't add it to absolutely Everything Just like every other spice you have to Be careful what you're using it with but I'm gonna make a very quick lunch right Now and I'm going to show you how I'm Using this today but if you want the Written recipe for this and some other Street Foods then cha-chart and Chutney Is your friend Going back on my shelf and I'm just Going to clear this up and make a very Very quick lunch So I'm just using the same pan as I used For dry roasting the Spices and I've added two tablespoons of Oil I'm using sunflower oil
Just let bring it up to heat And in the meantime I'm just gonna Roughly chop this one onion one salt Goes in a teaspoon of cumin seeds Let them sizzle and just if you have any Curry leaves at home otherwise you can Skip it this is optional I'm going to add the Onion this literally is a very very Quick lunch it's my working lunch today Just gonna give it five minutes until it Starts to turn golden in the meantime I'm just gonna chop up one red pepper The onions have started to soften up And we're just beginning to get some Color so I'm going to add in the Red pepper And give it another five minutes And in that time I'm just gonna chop up Four spring onions So I'm just adding the whites of the Spring onions And I've got the greens left over Just give it four to five minutes On medium Heat Just going to Open Drain and rinse a tin of chickpeas which Is 400 grams So in goes the thin chickpeas I'm going to increase the heat to high Mix And again give it five minutes Now it's hard time to kind of crisp up
The bottoms there look at that I'm gonna add the spices Now salt here will be to taste so I'm Gonna add three four depending on how Much rice you have Should be enough 10 and half a teaspoon Of turmeric powder half a teaspoon of Chili powder and now the star of the Show chat masala So I'm gonna add a good Two teaspoons Of Chaat Masala to this Give it a mix Oh amazing Now add in the greens of the spring Onions Reduce the Heat I'm just adding some leftover rice So it's straight from the fridge And which is fine So this this much would be enough for Two or three people actually So all that's left to do is Give it a good mix And I would just cook this on High heat for a couple of minutes just To warm the rice through fully And that really is it for our quick Delicious lunch now whenever I use a Chat Masala in my recipes you cannot say Um oh I don't have that what can I use Because now you can make it at home Stock it up Um this lovely
[Music] Right I am just gonna Quickly Eat some for you guys so here is a Magical Chaat masala I really hope you will make This at home and have a jar ready at all Times I had to try my lovely recipes so There's the rice It's quite a healthy rice you can add Less rice so there's more chickpeas and Peppers you could add some more Vegetables to it but I often make this For my kids lunchboxes then the same Goes Um for my husband's lunchbox and then I Would leave some keep some for myself For my lunch too Hmm It's so good Um You think you'd have put hardly any Effort in this It's healthy it's delicious it's vegan And it's ready in minutes but the magic Ingredient is So hope this was a helpful video And I hope that you'll make this and This But don't forget to subscribe and I'll See you very soon [Music]
