Hey guys welcome back to my channel I am Making a beautiful Um kind of coconutty uh leek and red Lentils Um it is freezing still cold here in the UK I have no idea wherever you are what The weather is but this is really good For hot weather too you just don't eat It piping hot you can let it cool down To room temperature and then enjoy this Dal if you are in a place where it's Very hot okay let's not waste any time Don't forget to subscribe hit the Bell Button and I'll get started on the Cooking Foreign So I have got here 250 grams of washed Red lentils or we call it masoor Dal as Well A teaspoon of turmeric powder A teaspoon of salt A teaspoon of ground cumin I'm also going to add a tin of coconut Milk that's 400 ml And I'm just gonna I've refilled the Same tin with some water so that's 400 ML of water goes into A good mix and this should take around 10 to 12 minutes to cook And while the Dal is cooking I'm just Going to prep one leek and a smallish Onion and I'm just gonna thinly slice Both of these So in this pan I've already added two
Tablespoons of oil I'm just going to add A teaspoon of ghee Just going to cook this for five to six Minutes Until it's nice and soft It's been cooking for seven eight Minutes it needs a bit more liquid so I'm adding another 300 mL of boiling Water Continue to cook this Almost there And our leeks and onions are also almost Done So it's been 15 minutes and the Dal is Perfectly cooked and I love the Consistency of it any thicker I would Just add a bit more water The dough needs to be broken up and not Um kind of still Intact So I'm going to turn this off and then Get to the Lovely leeks and onions I'm gonna finish the leeks with just a Sprinkling of salt and also really Important Tablespoon of Chili oil and this is going to provide That warmth to the topping or the tadka Now I'm going to take this off the heat In goes the Dal Lovely Leek and onion And here is the delicious coconutty leek
And onion Dal And now you can eat this as a bowl of Soup you can have it with rice which Would be amazing Um yeah I might just have it Has soup tonight Just smells amazing you have to mix it Up so all the flavor of the leek the Onion the chili oil can go into the Dal Um Oh I'm telling you this is so so good those Leeks and onions with the coconut base Of the Dal is Amazing is absolutely amazing I am very sure you guys are going to Love this Dal I'm very sure let me know In the comments below don't forget to Subscribe I'll see you back very soon This guys is ready in 15 minutes no fuss Delicious delicious delicious Foreign
