Preparing the Gravy
2 tbsp Oil
1 tsp Cumin Seeds
1 tsp Garlic (chopped)
1 tsp Ginger (chopped)
2-3 Green Chillies (sliced)
1/2 Onion (chopped)
1 cup Potato (diced)
250 gms Chicken (curry cut)
1 tsp Turmeric Powder
1/2 tsp Green Cardamom Powder
1/4 tsp Clove Powder
1/4 tsp Cinnamon Powder
1 tsp Red Chilli Powder
1 tsp Garam Masala Powder
1/4 cup Water
1/4 cup Tomato Purée
Salt (as required)
2 tbsp Curd
1 tbsp Coriander Leaves (chopped)
750 ml Water
1 & 1/2 tsp Lemon Juice
1 tsp Black Pepper Powder
For Garnish
Lemon Wedge
Black Pepper Powder
Coriander Leaves

Hi guys! This is your Punjabi Chef Prateek Dhawan. Not just any Dhawan but I’m the one Who is going to make a nice,
warm, Chicken Aloo ka Shorba. So, let’s begin. To begin the Shorba,
first, we will switch on the gas And next, I’m going to add Oil. Once the oil starts heating up,
I’m going to add Cumin Seeds. And once the cumin seeds start
crackling, I’m going to add chopped Garlic. Chopped Ginger And sliced Chilli. I’m going to cook it for a few mins. Once the colour of Ginger
and Garlic starts changing, I’m going to add chopped Onion. And I’m going to cook the onion
till it gets golden brown in colour. And once the colour of the onion
changes, I’m going to add…Potato. After adding the potatoes, I’m going to pan-fry the
potatoes for at least 5-6 mins. After pan-frying the potato for
few mins, we’ll add the chicken. I’m going to saute the
chicken for at least 5-6 mins And then we’ll start adding the masala. As the colour of the chicken starts
changing, it’s time to add the masala. First, I’m going to add Turmeric Powder. Cardamom Powder. Clove Powder. Cinnamon Powder. Red Chilli Powder And Garam Masala. Mix the masala nicely
with potato and chicken. And at this stage, also, I’m going to splutter some water. And once the rawness
of the masala goes away, It’s time to add Tomato Puree. We are going to mix it well and cook it
till the rawness of the Tomato goes away. To add a little seasoning,
I’m going to add Salt. This will also help in
speeding the cooking process.
Let’s lower the flame And next, I’m going to add Curd. And with Curd also I’m
going to add Coriander. By adding curd, it will help
in enhancing the flavour And appearance of the dish. After cooking for a few mins,
it’s time to add water to it. And after adding water,
I’m going to give a nice stir And cover and cook it for at least 30 mins. So, guys, our soup is ready. Now, let’s just do the
finishing, little Lemon juice. And Black Pepper. Give it a nice stir. Well, I’ll switch off the gas And our soup is now ready to get plated. And there you go guys, our warm delicious soup is now ready. You also do try this recipe and do let
